I believe your starter is a Prestolite. If there is a decent auto electric shop in your area, they can bebuild yours. Or you can do a "google produce search" (link) harley prestolite starter - Google Search
Ebay has some too.

You might try Jireh Cycles. They carry an Ultima Thunder Fire starters. Looking at '79-early 84 4 speed/chain drive shows for $120.00. Page 53 in section 1 Electrical. I've never used one but a friend with a shop recommended it to me for a '68 I'm rebuilding for a buddy.He said they increase from .8KW old starter to a 1.4KW starter.Kicks the old Shovels over a lot better. You might look at these and do some research.

What exactly is wrong with your starter? If you are mechanically inclined you can get parts for a rebuild
