rear fender alignment???

Hello, all....

First off, I own a 1986 Heritage Softail. The bike is in good shape. Recently however, I noticed that the rear fender was off-center a little more than I would like to see. There is over a good inch of space between the fender and rear tire on the right side, and not even half that on the other side. Just FYI, the rear tire and belt drive alignment are both OK. Is there some way the fender might be twisting or bending? If this is an easy fix, concerning realignment, can someone please walk me through the process.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

It seems to be a common occurance with the Heritage to not have the rear fender perfectly centered. Mine is off a little but not enough for me to worry about as most people would not notice. It is usually not a rear wheel alignment issue.

With a little time and effort I am sure you could make some adjustments possibly using different spacers etc. to solve the problem. Could be as easy as loosening up a few fasteners on the fender and readjusting.
