2009 marked the 10 year anniversary of a bike group from Cody, WY. They held the 1st Annual Rally at the River bike Rally just outside of Cody and it was a first class event. Six of us packed up and hit the road Friday morning and rode 450 miles from Rapid City, SD to Cody, WY. For only $50 we camped for 2 nights and they fed us breakfast and supper (beef brisket & steak) for 2 days. They had a 100 mile poker run, bike rodeo, wet T-shirt contest and 4 or 5 different bands that played from around 5 PM to 2 AM. Our tents were set up far enough away so that we could sleep while the bands were playing. If you've never rode that area, you are really missing out. Several great sights (Chief Joseph scenic highway, Beartooth pass, the Bighorn Mountains and Yellowstone National Park) are all within 100 miles of Cody. Anyhow, I'm sure these guys will have another Rally at the River next year, make sure you check them out. By the way, most of the proceeds are being donated to a local hospital for the mentally ill....pretty good cause.
