Question about efi

You turn the ignition on and hit the run button and wait for the lighted gas pump to go out then you push the start button . We've all experianced the occasional pop backfire where it didn't start , my question is are we suppose to turn ignition off and then back on to recharge fuel injectors or not ?

No, Fuel pump is on while run button is in Run position it keeps constant pressure to fuel rail.

Once the pump is cycled the fuel is on its way

The fuel pump will run any time the fuel pressure drops below a pre set value of about 58-60 LBS. After switching on the ignition, the ECM boots up and the pump runs until the preset pressure is reached and it shuts off until the engine is cranked and running. If you turn the ignition back off without starting the engine, the pressure will bleed off over some time and the pump will run again when the ignition is turned on again until the pressure is reached again.
Once the engine is running, so is the pump.
