pursuit switch change out

Pursuit switch controls spotlights on my bike. Both lights do not come on. The bulbs are okay. I have a new switch and need some advice on how to change it out.
When I take out the 3 screws on the control unit, do I need to secure the brake reservoir to keep it from falling off handlebar? In other words, is there anything special I need to do when disconnecting the control unit to access the pursuit switch?

I don't know about the switch replacement, but you must put a 3/16" spacer between the brake lever and perch (pull lever in, and put spacer in the gap). Use an allen wrench, end of tie wrap, whatever fits. If you don't the brake switch may misalign and get broken. Very delicate piece.
