That's why I use the HD filters. They are 5 micron rated and I believe the K&N are 20.

Dosen't that restrict flow?

The filters are made for the engine. With the small orifices in the piston oilers, anything with a bigger micron rating would let more/larger impurities pass through them and we know what happens then.

I just picked up a HD chrome oil filter (63798-99A) from Biggs HD in San Marcos, CA. I found out my shop was using cheap imitation filters. I didn't want to ride to Sturgis with 5-micron thoughts in my head.
