I'm wondering if there is a way to find out what month my 1978 sportster was produced. Can anyone help???

Only HD archives can tell you the exact month it was built. 1978 Sportsters with VIN #'s starting 3A started @ 10005, and ended @ 51674. The last 2 numbers (H8) are model and year. You should be able to get an idea of the month by the production number. HD usually starts building in Jul/Aug. for next model yr.
