I have a 2000 fatboy,it has always spit alittle since new.just did a tune-up and took it for a ride.it wont idle by itself so I checked inside the fuel tank to clean the petcock screen.when I looked inside I can see the primer in the tank coming off.its plugging up the line.wow,is this normal? do I have to strip and clean it out? or is this harley`s fault and I should get a new tank!!!! Help!!!!

Sounds like the tank liner is starting to break down this is not un heard of as modern fuels can affect some of the substances they come in contact with
Re lining the tank would be the best way forward
I have done 2 of my tanks with various solutions to strip out the old lining and flash coat the internals and then a lining coat the procedure takes a few hours the correct substances a lot of water and a good workout as sloshing fluid around in a tank takes a lot of muscle power
I used a por 15 tank repair kit
