02 heritage softail- 60000 miles- took derby cover off when changing oil and noticed clutch is almost touching outer primary cover. not enough room to pour oil in. had to put oil in inspection cover. is it normal for clutch to be out that far? no noise and clutch works fine

Yup
The new M8 is a bit different has a funnel slot cut in it fill to bottom of clutch basket 28oz on the nose

I used a long thin funnel and it worked well.

My 08 EG also needs a funnel to fill primary. Don't ask how I know........
