Primary leak after fluid change

OK, I changed the transmission/primary fluid on my sons 2005 1200, in:shockstalled new gasket, tightened the bolts in a star pattern and found fluid on the garage floor today. Is there a trick that I don't know about? I guess the large gasket slipped during re-installation of the cover plate. Any thoughts or suggestions? I have never had this happen after changing the primary fluid on my Heritage.

Not sure but the fluid should be below the cover so I would check the drain plug

If you changed the inspection cover gasket, this could be the problem.

You would have had to of run the engine for it to leak though. The quad ring on the durby cover also could have slipped out of place during install also.

My guess would be slipped or pinched derby cover seal.
