okay i have put a new primary chain on my 07 sportster 1200L. question is when i torque down the nut on the flywheel shaft, i cannot turn the engine over by hand. is this normal? when the nut is just snugged up tight i can turn it freely. also i have the top end off due to putting a 1250 kit on it.

    Matt.

Welcome to the forum, and thank you for your first post. I guess the key thing is WHY are you replacing the primary chain so soon? Most people go for many YEARS and maybe 50,000 miles or so and only have to change out the primary tensioner SHOES.:25:

Did you have something bad happen...i.e. forgot to put in primary fluid in and drove around for a few thousand miles or have something self destruct in there? :(

blew it up. busted piston, and bent a connecting rod. bolt out of the air cleaner backing plate got sucked through the throttle body and busted the piston and ate up the head.
