i have just bought a harley sportster xlh model year 2005 it's a 883cc with a hyper charger when i have been going on a run between 8-10 miles its starts popping banging and cutting out on me then only tick over the orange engine light is on but once the engain is then cold it runs ok

if anyone could please help
 
What mods are done to it? Has it been re jetted? Need more info.

Have you checked for fuel contaminants?
 
I do not know if it has been jetted for the hyper-charger, it has Vance and Hines exhaust system and has been standing for some months before I bought it and I had to replace the battery, thats as much as I can tell you at the moment, thanks for your help and responses.
 
I would first open up the carb and see what jetting is in there. The low should be about a #46 and the high speed should be about a #180/185.

Runs ok till gets hot, then shuts down. Cools off runs again?
Sounds electrical componet heating up and shuting down? Coil, crank sensor, module?
May be way off base here?
