Penetrating Oils

The best stuff I have found is GM heat valve solvent. Used to use it when I worked for the Chevy dealer. You could spray the exhaust manifold studs and no matter how bad they were the stuff would eat the rust and they would break loose in about 15 minutes.

When I was in the Navy, we used to go to the dispensary and get a bottle of "Oil of Wintergreen" and a hypodermic needle. Drip a few drops on a corroded bolt/nut and it came loose in minutes. Made the job smell pretty good too. I guess they found that it was either A. Corrosive B. Toxic or C. Too expensive to give to a greasy jet mechanic because we stopped being able to get the stuff... or else it was outlawed by the wing, can't remember. I know getting needles became an big issue. We used those to inject super glue into the de-icer boots on the props that would occasionally have a bubble form in them.
