Some people complain that over time the heat causes the Rinehart tips to turn a purple color. Maybe all you have to do is ride and wait. Mine are still black.
The stuff they use for blueing a barrel of a gun can be purchased to make it plum, I fabricated a muzzle loader years ago and used a product that made it plum/purple, that may work for you.
