Hello Everyone,
I found this code after seeing my engine light flickering on my way to work.

I understand this is a high voltage issue and can possibly be the voltage regulator as well as a battery.

How can I tell which one is the culprit here. Don't have a lot of money to spend.

Someone told me to check with a gauge but he said to hook one end to the pos post on the battery and the other to the earth lead.

What is a earth lead?

Can someone possibly help me in diagnosing this problem?
Thanks

Place a High Quality voltmeter across the battery and check the DC voltage (XX.XX) @ idle, 2000 RPM and at 3000 RPM. See what you read. Should not really be more than ~14.60 or so.

"Earth ground" just means FRAME ground or Battery ground.

My limited experience with voltage regulators indicates it is best to replace battery and regulator. Battery will not be throwing high volt code. Bad regulator typically throwing too high voltage and it tends to fry batteries.
