Old HD semi synthetic trans fluid

Need to get opinions on the old style discontinued semi-synthetic transmission fluid from HD. Have a chance to buy some on close out from the local dealer.

Should I use it in my 04 Road King or go with a full synthetic like Mobil one or Spectro. Red Line not available locally so I'm not going there. Been using Mobil one 20w50 but want to switch to a true gear lube.

Any help would be appreciated.

You got to ask yourself why they have this oil left over, wonder why it didn't sell? Go with a full synthetic, any gear oil synthetic of the proper weight will work.

I would go with the Spectro myself instead of the old oil from HD.

Good thought Animal, think I'll go Spectro as suggested by Glider. Have'nt seen any negative reviews on that product anywhere.

Well couldn't find Spectro anywhere near my town. Several dealers listed on Spectro's website no longer deal in Spectro. Those that do only handle products for crotch rockets.

Guess I'm back to Mobil 1 gear oil.
