Oil problem...?

On the 2007 Sportsters a special "O" ring had to be used to stop leakage. Does this apply to the 2008 models as well? The bike is backfiring as well.
Anyone got any ideas?

The more specific information you give. The more help you will receive. Oil from where, which o-ring, what model 2008, what mods on the 2008, stage one, backfiring when? You get the idea. All the information is needed.......

If you're referencing the oil "plug" o-ring then yes it's needed for "all" bikes, or use thread tape (same principle).

As far as bike backfire, like others, need some background/info.? Is this after a recent mod (pipes, a/c, etc.), or stock bike?

With more info it will be easier to get you the help you seek. The O ring should be at least checked if not replaced every oil change and drain plug torqued to insure no oil leaks. As far as back firing more info is needed as what mods to the bike when does it do it when did it start ETC:s
