The anti-rotation device works; a bit of a pain to get just right but it works. Back in the day, before that device was available, red Loctite on the stock to adapter oil filter nipple was the trick to keep the adapter from rotating. Now, that piece comes with red Loctite applied. Perhaps the OP did not apply sufficient torque to the filter adapter or is applying too much torque to the oil filter. If red was used, adapter torqued to spec and filter installed by hand per SM recommendations, the adapter should not rotate. Since 2005, the adapter on my Deuce has not rotated; used red, anti-rotation device was not available then.:s
