Not finding neutral when engine is running

Hi there ,

Having problems whit a friends 99 springer shifting into neutral.
I already changed the primary oil and adjusted the clutch and cable.
Still the same problem .
The primary oil is very smelly and dark collored .
I will change the oil again and also change the transmission oil .
What would be the problem here ?

Thanks.

Regards,
Alain

cheers

You mentioned adjusting the clutch and cable. Did you check the primary chain tension? I had the same problem last year and it turned out to be the primary chain was a little too tight. Reset to specs and I can find neutral everytime now. Just my thought:s

Thanks Glider.

Can I use Mobilube 1 SCH 75w90 for the gears ?

Regards,
Alain

Not familiar with the "SCH" designation you posted but the Mobil 1 75/90 or 75/140 will do nicely. It's just that the Spectro is a bit better from my experiences. I have used the Mobil 1, Redline and switched to Spectro and never changed from Spectro.

If you are looking for spectro oil products in europe they should be available through a zodiac dealer
