New tach wiring

Hi there. I am looking at putting a dreg specialties mini tach on my 2000 wide glide.

ONe source says It just has to be wired into the tach feed from the ignition module.. The other says I need a $40 adapter.

What gives?

You may find a pink wire that is the tach signal tucked away in the harness up around the headlight itself. If you do it's a home run for you. I don't recall the year they did away with it.


Shouldn't be any adapter necessary for the hookup.

If the pink wire isn't available, you can use the #3 location in the ECM plug. It's the tach signal position where the pink wire was connected to.
