Check & adjust the chain at the tightest (most taunt) spot. One sign that a chain is toast is to check the play at the midpoint of the rear sprocket. The worst will expose a bunch of the tooth. Another thing to check while you are there is there should be a flat on each tooth, if the rear teeth are pointed that will wear out a new chain in short order. I wouldn't expect this with so few miles.
