I have a 2006 Ultra Classic, I need a New Rear Laced Wheel. I have a 1" Axle. I purchased What I was told is a 2000 or newer Lace wheel with a 3/4" Bearing & Sleeve. It was told to me at the time that I needed to only change the Sleeve and Bearings to 1" to make it work. all the other components bolt right on. What could be wrong? the Bearings fit. The Sleve will not fit. the hole in the hub is just fitting the Axel alone with out the Sleeve?

Do the new bearing include built in sleeve? I know that the newer bikes have sealed bearings. I dont have a "sleeve" on my rear axle, just spacers

You have the wrong wheel. The bore in the hub has to accept the new 1" sleeve and you have to use the sleeve so the bearings don't get damaged.

And don't be tempted to bore up the hub as it can weaken it for a future disaster... As Kemo says, you've got the wrong wheel.

It is correct that the 2000 tourers had 3/4" axles, the 1" came in 2002.
