My Air Cleaner Bolt

Here are pics of the broken air cleaner bolt on my 2015 Freewheeler
Never seen a bolt break like this

I have seen this. Most of the time we are able to use left handed drill bits to remove the stud portion. We got lucky a couple weeks ago whe an axle bolt broke while tigtening. Once the left handed bit grabbed it, it spun right out. Poor casting.

The bolt never reached torque, the head fell off I was able to screw the threads out by hand, it appeared to be a 2 piece bolt, the likes I have never seen before, remember the old days when a big phillps head screw held the ac on?

Probably a poor grade of bolt and with that where the bolt is used and the vibration it has to stand the mushroom part split in two. Is it aluminum maybe???

No did not fall off, yes the bolt is not magnetic must be aluminum

Just check on my 2008, magnet will not stick.....
By the way has dealer gotten you straightened away with parts yet???

hey Jack , I thought that I was the only one for weird stuff to happen to. maybe you can now use it for a washer some where?
