Motorcycle salvage yard

I could do with finding one here in the UK. Due to what I've been told, the whole engine will have to be removed just to replace the bent gear shaft on my 2005 XL1200R sporty, so it might be the cheaper option just to replace the whole engine and gearbox because of the stupid design, than it would be to have it stripped down just to replace one single part.

I have in the past used a breaker search to find slightly rarer parts in the old days you would fill in a form and it would be faxed to a lot of breakers who if the had the parts you wanted would call you direct and discuss price and postage
I think this sort of service will work via email in these times but the result is the same
Search 200 Motorcycle Breakers FREE partfinder for motorbike parts

Cheers Brian, I have now saved that page in my favourites. When I get confirmation from the insurance company and see what they come up with, I will log on and try a search.

If you do use it and get a return from the search it may be worth noting the breaker that gets in touch as there are breakers that will buy all insurance scrapped bikes of a particular manufacturer and therefore you can build up a relationship with them as yet i have not found who specialises in HD bikes but for BMW motto guzzi and Honda i know where to turn and had accounts with the relevant breakers and a good working relationship however since joining this forum i have lost the desire to spend all of my time in the shed restoring an old bike and perhaps have lost the relationship i did have with breakers

You may want to try the place I work for when you need parts.
If they don't have it, it hasn't come in yet.
They have a complete 2009 Tri-glide rear section.
Cycle Warehouse Butler PA Bing or Google it.
I'm amazed at what's in that building.
