motor upgrade?

    I'm going to look at a Road Glide used for my first HD and the guy told me the bike is stock I think he said its a 88CI, my question is if i need more power can i go to a 103CI upgrade kit or since its a older model I can only go up to a 96CI kit.

    You can go to a 95 with that 88 but I would ride it a while first. There has been many an 88 that would run right up with the bigger engines. If longevity is an issue for you , leave it stock and do the stage 1, slipons and a TFI.

    When I did the tensioner upgrade on my '99 Ultra I added a set of Andrews 26N cams, a Big Sucker air cleaner, and a TFI to go with the V&H slip ons that I already had. Don't know what amount of HP it added, but it's more than enough for me. A lot of times, refining what you have works out better than totally redoing everything....

    88 to a 95 is a good choice, watch the compression ratios they tend to ping, and the Stealers will want to talk you into compression releases JMO
