I've never been one to ask someone to get a bike .It is a personal decision that only you can make .If it doesn't feel right ,don't do it.JMO

Sometimes you just gotta get a refresher... we all have close calls. Whenever I have a close call I always have to question whether it's worth riding .. it's up to you. Maybe a break might be necessary for u.
