MAF and Delphi

I am have been wondering why HD did not use a MAF sensor with the Delphi system.
Cars have been using it for years. The MAF (mass air flow) makes allot faster and more accurate fuel delivery. That is why the auto world went to it.
The system that cars used before this was called speed density. Is this What the HD system is?
Just a few questions I was wondering about.

The Delphi system presently in use is speed-density with closed loop capability thanks to the O2 sensors on the newer motorcycles.

Mass air-flow is the obvious next step in the evolution of Harley fuel injection and the only reason I can come up with for not using it already is packaging.

I would expect (hope) that MAF will be coming down the pipe sooner rather than later because it takes all the guess work out of fuel injection and easily accomodates changes / upgrades such as cams, intakes, exhaust etc. as well.
