I have a sportster 2004 my first harley...;)

I got a new set of clutch plate anda new centre double spring plate..
and set the centre screw then tightened up the cable..
all went great untill the bike was warmed up...
Then.. it was difficult getting into first gear .. only slightly.. though..
but if i gave it a just a little rev.. it would go straight into gear no problem..
I thought it was the plates expanding when hot.
so I waited till they were cold'
then ajusted the screw again...
still same problem ...? everything else seems fine.. some one said you may need to tighten the cam chain a bit
thanks for your help guys..

A Sportster does not have a cam chain. The cams are all gear driven. You may want to check the primary chain for proper adj. I would readj. your clutch again(cold). After I adj. the cable for the 1/8 free play I always pull the lever 5-6 times then recheck.
