1993 hugger, if I lower the rear do I have to readjust the belt ?

Any changes to suspension should include checking adjustment of belt and tracking of rear tire. Also check for tire to fender clearances:s

My sportster has the shocks with the 5 position pre loads. I would think if you adjust that it would soften the suspension some allowing the bike to sit lower when you sit on it? Not sure if thats a good thing or not, but the thought just crossed my mind...
