Low voltage at idle....

1991 Ultra Classic...

New here so I hope this post is in the right place.

Bike voltage at idle is around 10, if I use the brake it idles rough and pins back and fourth between 8-10. If it is at 8-10 the blinkers will not work. If I use the blinkers before I stop they work and I can see the lights dim and flicker with the blinker blinking. At highway speed the voltage is 13+ with out spot lights (moog lights...passing lights.... ???) and above 14 with them off??

Is it a stator issue...volt/recitifer issues?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Oh..if it is a stator issue, anyone have a estimate cost of a HD dealer replacing it?

From what you describe, it sounds more like a battery old age problem. I would have it load tested before replacing anything else. If the battery checks out with a load test, then do the tests for the stator then.
