Now all the questions I have witnessed concerning this over the years is related to its inaccuracy. Mine is much different. My gauge works, light in gauge works so the means the sending unit and float are good. My low fuel light no longer comes on. When it stumbles I reach for reserve (Carb'd bike)and away we go. The question is, does the sending unit have a separate switch that activates the low fuel light or is it a function of resistance? IE: Full tank = X ohms, empty = Y ohms and the light comes on at Z ohms?
Trying to figure out how to go about testing it with out tearing everything out of the tank first. Could be the light is out on the speedo.......
