Losing charge

riding home one day ,bike quite going down the road so i checked out battery and cables. seemed ok but changed out battery anyway.we down the road and back a few weeks later but would not crank back up , until i charged the battery any solutions

Load test the battery, just because it's new doesn't mean it's good. You may want to test the regulator as well.

I had issues with the voltage regulators on both my 07 and my 12 Ultras. One stopped charging all together (07) and the other (12) decided the battery needed.to be charged at 16VDC+.
 
Sounds like it may be time for a stator. You can run for quite a way on the battery alone. If you have a multimeter you can pretty easily diagnose it. Dont be fooled by the amperage output at the stator. An ohm test can show a short in the stator even though your putting out amps.
