Loose Mirror Ball & Socket Joint - Tricks???

I just installed some Arlen Ness mirrors. And while they look very nice, the ball joint is somewhat loose and the mirrors move under normal bike vibration. Anyone have any tricks for making the ball and socket joint "stickier"?

I was considering dribbling a bit of thin superglue in the socket and move the mirror as the glue dries to add a thin coat of glue to the ball/socket. Anyone have a better idea??

Most will have 2 phillip screws to tighten the ball and socket, but some Arlen Ness mirrors have a chrome nut on the back of the mirror. It looks like a chrome ring with two flat sides.Just put the proper wrench on it.If memory serves me correct a 1/2" wrench will fit the flats, then turn clockwise until the ball is tight.

Thanks Steve! That turns out to be the trick. I didn't realize it was a nut.

From one nut to another nut! :bigsmiley20:

Sometimes you feel like a nut.....sometimes you don't!
