Yet an other problem on my 1998 FLHR :(

When cold no noise and the engine run correctly.

But when the engine hot a noise appears (tic, tic, tic...).

I think that a lifter that does not take the pressure.

What do you think ?

Engine oil, Revtech 20W50.

Thank you :s

I had a problem with the roller bearing on the lifter wearing out on my Evo.
If you pull the lifter and you can move that roller up and down freely on the lifter you have found your problem. Some friends I have who know that they should just replace them change out to a straight 50 weight oil to quiet them down, but that is only a temporary solution.

Many people recommend replacing HD lifters around the 30,000 mile mark. I have had failed lifter bearings on my Evo. The front exhaust is most common because of the angle.

Depending on the miles check the lifters to tappet block fit as well
