Lifter question

My friend has a 2007 Dyna Streetbob. it is a 96 and he is making it to a 103. He took the lifters out and now doesn't know how they go back in. Do the holes face each other or towards the cam plate? He heard that it doesn't matter and also that the holes should face each other. Does anyone know? Thanks.

You are supposed to mark or record how they came out so they can be put back in the same place facing the same way. If that was not done, just reinstall them. Is he using adjustable pushrods?

TQ

They should be replaced in the same holes but once installed the lifters spin so it doesn't matter which way the holes are facing.
