Lifter bleed down

So when you look into the tappet block and look at the lifter and it is down as far as it can go, you cannot turn the pushrod?

It is up about 3/8 to 1/2 inch from face of casting. Both of them are up equal.

Well, been a while since I have done a TC but on an evo you check it when the lifter is all the way down in the tappet block or the valve in the closed position. Are you sure you are checking them in the correct position?

I checked it on the stand by turning the wheel until we felt the air come out of the front cylinder and I can see the piston is TDC.

on the TC they do stick up from the block some i did this yesterday 3/8ths to 1/2 sounda about right if both lifters look even its on flat of cam

They do look even and are up that amount.

should have been drop um back in and tighten down rockers and go

I can understand that. you said you are turning the motor over now by hand?
