What size is the bulb in the tailight on the 06 sportster, I ordered a laydown lense and I need a Led bulb, But the bike is at home and I'm 30 minutes away at work and never looked.
 
are there 2 variations of the 1157 tailight (twist, and one with a thin bottom that pushes into a socket? I have the second one in my tailight but did not get to see which one it was.
 
Not that I am aware of but anything is possible. The one you describe is usually used in marker lights but they may have changes to a different bulb.
 
the tail light bulb on my '07 Fxst is a wagner 12v 3157 k Stock
I have an LED bulb and the number on it is s8 3157
