K&N HD0800 Doesn't fit

Ordered the HD0800 K&N air filter. It arrived but there is no way the mounting holes line up with my Stage 1 backing plate bolts. NO WAY. There are 2 near the outside of the face plate and one right next to the cover mounting hole.


So I went on the K&N website and entered my information. This is what was returned.

So does anyone have any suggestions. I really want to get away from the paper HD filter.
 
Could it be that the filter number is for O.E. air filter assembly????
I thought the stage 1 air filter was servicable.
