K&N Filter Cleaning

Getting ready to take the bike in for the 5K service. Should I be cleaning/re-oiling the filter in between service intervals or are 5k mile service intervals enough under normal driving conditions?

It states 50,000miles on K&N website. I do mine every 5000 miles.

Down here in Fl with all the dust and sand, not to mention the love bugs, I clean and reoil mine 3 or 4 times a year.

Just like oils you will get many answers, it really depends on your riding conditions IMO

I actually just finished oiling mine a few minutes ago. I do mine every 4-5k

Just goo easy on the oil..I did mine and put too much oil on the filter media and it kept dripping off the filter cover..Just spray enough to make it pink..

Oiling a KnN A/F do you just mist it with oil or give it a good spraying? I just got a new one and it tell`s me nothing about how to oil it?
