I have a 89 sportster and it seems to have a hard time going into 1st when the bike is warmed up .it shifts great while i moving. so i have played with the clutch adjustment (used the book method and easy methond Thanks for that ) . my question is when the bike first starts up its cold and the idle runs slower it seems to go into first allot easier . could my idle speed cause a problem with going into 1st.

Sure, the way these constant mesh trannys are set up, the slower the idle = less clunk
