Jump Starting a Dead Battery

thanks for the help, Tourbox.....I'm a rookie at a lot of this stuff...can you give me an idea what a Heli-Coil kit would cost?

I usually get them at NAPA,Auto Zone, etc.. The kit come with proper drill bit, a tap, 6-8 heli coils(maybe more) and a tool to install the coil into the New threaded hole. Be sure and break the Tang off before installing the bolt. The install tool catches the Tang to screw it in the new hole, should come with instructions.
They some where around $20-$25 bucks for the kit IIRC.

No problem using a car battery to start your bike as long as the DONER VEHICLE is not running.

I have a spare heavy duty 12 volt car battery thet I use regulary to start a bike I have in my garage that has no battery fitted at all.
Done this multiple times and no damage yet. Then again I don't have a radio or any electronics on the bike.
