ironhead xlch primary

I just got my first bike its a xlch sportster, I have read alot of posts looking for what oil to use in the primary.I read that no syn , 10-30 10 -40 or 20-50 would be fine but this was for newer bikes so whats good for my ol 77?
I live in northern ontario and there isnt a HD dealer for hrs.

Welcome to he forum timberjack, in 77 they just used engine oil the same grade as the engine, I personally would use a gear & chaincase lube designed for the XL. Spectro makes a good one or Rev Tech also makes one and it might be easier to fine in your area.
