Intermittent Popping at High Speed

Any Ideas - It started after replacing the SE gold plugs that came on the bike w/ the standard HD plugs....

As Hobbit said, make sure the plugs are gapped according to the book. Then, the easy thing is to reinstall the gold plugs if you still have them and see if you still have that same problem. If not, there ya go!!

My guess is it is just coincidental that you changed the plugs and the popping started (assuming the gap is right!). Let us know what you find.

Plugs were gapped to .038

The gap is .038-.042, try regapping to .040

As Glider said, regap to .40". But just for grins, grab each of the plug wires and push hard towards the plugs. Did you feel a "snap"?

Yep, also had the boy grab hold of the wire while it was running to make sure it was firing - he wouldn't grab the other one for some reason....
