interconnect harness HDI

Hi,
I was re-installing my outer faring on my '05 FLHTCUI and noticed two wires that had no place to connect... by the headlamp connection. After looking at the wiring diagram in the manual, these two connections are for HDI only. I wondering what that is.

The pages on the Interconnect Harness in the Parts Catalog for my 2004 Ultra has it as going to a Position Light.
