I need to remove the inner faring, the smaller portion below the ignition switch to gain access to the top of the front fork tubes. I read the manual on the procedure to remove the ignition switch on my 2006 street glide. But it looks like I need a special tool from Harley to reposition the switch. Does anyone know if I need this tool?

    Thanks, Don

No...don't need it. Some people made their own tool from flattened/bent copper tubing (search on YouTube) & I just used long flat-end screwdriver. Worked like a champ & just remember where your ignition position is set so you get it back to proper selection for re-assembly.

There is an excellent video on Youtube about the switch removal/installation. I think it's also in the forum self help area.
