Went for a ride and noticed the volt meter fluctuating.

The connection from the stator to regulator was clean and solid.
The voltage output from the stator is per the book.
The regulator ground was dirty, but now better thanks dielectric grease and serrated washers.

I have been looking for the other end of the black wire (+) from the regulator in the manual using a large magnifying glass. It ends at block 3B A (red). I realize this wont mean anything unless you have the manual.

If I knew where this terminated , maybe I can back track in the manual.

    Thanks

Are you referring to the battery wire (12v) it should be the battery feed to the regulator.

    The regulator has 4 wires.

    2 from the stator
    1 to ground

I assume the other one is the one that charges the battery.

    IS that correct

    Ok that helps.
Its either going to the starter or main circuit breaker.

Its dark right now and I will trace it out tomorrow.

    Thanks

Found it. After 2 hrs of going thru schematics I found what I was looking for in the charging section.

That wire terminates on the copper stud located on the starter.
