and left a small but deep scratch, I guess no matter how carefull you are things can still go wrong. Is there any simple method to take care of it?

If it is not through the clear coat. Rubbing compound, or 2500 grit sandpaper and then compound and polish.

It depends on the color as to how easy it is. One of the least expensive ways is to use a pin striping brush and to touch up with layers then use 2500 grit wet sand to smooth it out then buff. If it isn't dented you might be satisfied with it.

I can relate to how you feel. A couple of weeks back, I swung a Weed-Wacker around while in my Garage and put a really nice size ding in my 3 Year old Flawless Mustang GT. First and only ding in the entire car and I did it while parked in the garage.

But like Smitty says, a good painter Can fix almost anything. The important thing is that it IS fixable so don't beat yourself up over it..

Hoop!
