how to fix leaking shift shaft

Thanks everyone. It was the "tower gasket" that is sandwiched between the outer and the inner primary chaincase. The tower forms the tunnel that the shift shaft rides in and exits both sides of the chaincase. It was not centered and therefore pinched and leaking. Hard to tell if was assembled wrong or if it "walked" during normal operation. It was a $1.00 part, I was able to reuse the main gasket. My local independent dealer sold me a quart of Drag Specialties primary lube for refilling.
