how many miles on tires

Rear was worn out at 15K and 30K on my '98 xlh1200. Rear needs to be replaced again at 45K.

Always used stock HD/Dunlop.
 
08 1200c,11k miles Rear tire is pretty low but appears to be 1/8 or so tread Front is at about 50%.
I went on line and got excellent deal on OEM tires. 82 for the front and 116 for the rear. Shipping free. Got them in 3 days. Plan on doing the rear in the next 30d or so.
 
On my FLHR... I change the back tire at 19,260Km ( 11,967 miles ) . I also use Dunlop. By the way, here in Montreal the D402-MU85B16 goes for $209.00Cdn. (not installed).

17k on the rear and almost to the wear bars. 17 on the front. Maybe another 5k left on her. IDS helps allot on the rear mileage IMO. Weekly tire pressure monitoring helps prolong tire life also.
 
I notice one key to those getting good mileage........air pressure checks.
Just wondering if you are running recommended pressures,or a little over. On my EGC I run 36 front as recommended,but 40 on rear as if I am carrying a load. Is there a better system?
