I NOTICED SOMETHING I DON'T LIKE ON MY NEW FLHR...
The CROSSOVER PIPE sits too close for my comfort to the bottom (TOP) of drive belt....
I noticed on a hot day parked after a long ride, while checking tension of my drive belt (burning fingers), HOW EASY it would be to BURN the BELT in the SPOT directly above the exhaust cross-over pipe while stopped in one place too long....
I plan to make a sheetmetal clamp-on HEAT SHIELD that will reduce the direct HEAT from the exhaust between that small space and the belt...
PROBLEM is there while at idle and sitting stopped for a LONG LIGHT or while at a stand-still ?? the HOT SPOT developes....
Right now i remember to coast ahead a few inches after being at a stop for a longer time... At least the belt will be given another SPOT to take some HEAT...
Take a close look at YOURS and see what YOU THINK....
LET me know if you think I"M BLOWING HOT AIR
